What is Imbolc
•Imbolc means "in the belly." It's an ancient Celtic festival celebrating the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, traditionally celebrated around the 1st of February. The sun grows brighter, and the nights become shorter. It’s a time of reflection, an opportunity to focus on your deeper goals and intentions for the coming of spring.
How to Honour Imbolc
•Wear the colours White, Red, Pink, and Black.
•Set your deeper intentions through meditation or journaling while contemplating what you would like to nurture and grow this year, both within yourself and in the world.
•Spring clean and cleanse. Clear your space with salt and make room for new energy. Open the windows to let fresh air waft through your home. Create space in both your environment and your body for a renewed sense of vitality.
•Plant a garden. Plan your garden rotation or start planting seeds to sprout in time for the equinox when the celestial equator intersects the ecliptic.
Quote/Affirmation:
•"Just as nature begins to awaken after its dormant period, we, too, are reawakening with new dreams and exciting new plans."
Small Ritual Idea:
•Light candles around your home or have a bonfire in the crisp evening air.
This ritual can be a beautiful way to mark a transition in your life, celebrate a special occasion, or simply take a pause from the hustle and bustle of daily life to reconnect with yourself and those around you.
